Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
This policy explains what data the Versiclo app and the versiclo.com website use, why, who they are shared with and how you control them.
Who we are
Versiclo is a Bible-reading app. For anything about privacy and personal data, contact us at contato@versiclo.com.
Using the app without an account
You can read the Bible, listen to verses and use the Stories without an account. In that case the app sends no personal data to our servers beyond the technical data every connection uses, such as your IP address (for example, to load like counts or download a translation). Your preferences (language, translation, text size, theme and where you stopped reading) are stored only on your device.
Data we process when you create an account
- Your name and email address, entered when you sign up.
- Your password, stored encrypted by the authentication service. We have no access to it.
- Likes and favorites: which verses and when.
- Comments you post, and reports and blocks you make.
- The app language, so emails reach you in your language.
- Your Premium subscription status (until when it is valid).
- How many new explanations you requested that day, to prevent abuse.
What we don't collect
We don't collect location, contacts, photos, microphone audio or advertising identifiers, and we don't use tracking or advertising tools. Read-aloud uses your device's own voice: the text is not sent to us.
How we use the data
- To keep your account and sync likes and favorites across your devices.
- To show public like and comment counts, without revealing who liked a verse.
- To show your comments, with your name, to other subscribers.
- To moderate comments: a filter for inappropriate words, reports and blocks.
- To send sign-up confirmation and password recovery emails.
- To unlock Premium features.
We process this data to provide the service you signed up for and, for moderation and abuse prevention, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe.
Explanations by artificial intelligence
When you ask for an explanation of a verse that hasn't been explained yet, we send our artificial intelligence provider (Anthropic) only the verse reference and the language. None of your data, such as your name, email or account, is sent. The generated explanation is saved and shown to every subscriber who asks for the same verse.
Who we share data with
We don't sell your data. We use providers that process data on our behalf, only to run the service:
- Supabase: database, authentication and storage.
- Resend: sign-up and password emails.
- Anthropic: generating explanations (no personal data).
- Cloudflare: the versiclo.com website and contact email.
- Apple and Google: app distribution and subscription billing. We never receive your card details.
Your comments and name are visible to other subscribers. We may also share data when the law requires it.
International transfers
These providers' servers are located outside Brazil, mainly in the United States. Transfers rely on the contractual safeguards those providers offer, in line with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.
How long we keep data
For as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time in Settings โ Delete account. When you do, we delete your name, email, likes, favorites, comments, reports, blocks and explanation usage history, and public counts are adjusted. Generated explanations contain none of your data and remain available.
Your rights
Under the LGPD and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, learn who it is shared with and withdraw consent. You can delete your account directly in the app. For other requests, write to contato@versiclo.com; we reply within 15 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD).
Children
Features that require an account, such as comments, are intended for people aged 13 and over. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who created an account, write to us and we will delete the data.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and access rules in the database prevent anyone from seeing another person's personal data. No system is completely immune to failures; if an incident affects you, we will let you know.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app when the change is significant.
